Many children feel school-related stressors like poor grades, hostile friendships, test pressure and personality clashes with other kids or adults in the school. Occasional or moderate stress can be healthy, however who are constantly stressed may have more illness, missed school days and feelings of inadequacy. Building emotional intelligence and stress management work hand in hand. It can wreck havoc on your child's gut health. It can cause a host of problems that affect your child. Some children can feel emotionally hijacked when they don't know an answer, need to give a presentation or are bullied by other children. Teaching children how to manage their own levels of stressors is a skill that will help them into adulthood.There are many free games for kids that will help reduce stressful feelings in kids. Good nutrition is essential for children. Eating right helps keep the brain and the body ready to face challenges. Eating a healthy breakfast is a key thing children need to start their day.

Deep breathing is also a great way to induce relaxation in children.

  • Ask your child to write down things that are stressing them out on a piece of paper
  • Read it with your child (or they may prefer not to show you)
